Do you hear that trampling noise from afar, that is a herd of cows!

Every year we (cows) come together in April for our annual stampede to give a project a big boost, this year the victim, I mean lucky winner is... Cosmology

Some cows grew impatient and already started to graze, but the official start is on the 1st of April.

@admins, keep the work coming and a close eye on the server ;).

Happy Crunching!

I'm anxious to see what output we get this year.

My cows are grazing already :-)

I hope you're sure.
Nothing is impossible in a DPC stampede, I've seen some things in the past years. I wouldn't be very surprised if the dayly output will rise to 1M.

Rise to 1M?. Then you have not been in a DPC stampede before. It will be much more than that :-)

Mooh to that. :) It's indeed only 3x our current output. Most of us (including the big cows) haven't even started yet.
The 'wouldn't be very surprised' can be seen as an understatement.

Let's not get carried away here guys.

Looking at the stats the work generation kicks in when workunits available falls below 2000. And stops again when there are more than 3500 workunits.

3000 workunits is enough for 375 quadcore (including HT to 4C-8T) computers requesting a full day's worth of work at the same time. Should be enough, considering work generation will also kick in.

Yes we will bring some power, but it's not like a Primegrid challenge where everyone will be requesting work at the same exact starting time.

Did an extra check, when work generation starts the server seems to create over 1000 workunits within 5 minutes. So no problem there.

You've got a point. 375 quadcores is a lot of computers, but don't forget about the ridiculous amount of power some our members bring :)
