I recently lost my hd, so I replaced it. I did a brand new install of BOINC, same version as pre-crash. Previous to the crash, I was running Cosmology on 6 of my 8 cores. Post crash, I'm still using 6 cores, but now there are 8 Cosmology units working. What happened? How can this be? As slow as cosmology crunches, I get the feeling that I'm losing productivity.

My preferences haven't changed and I'm still using HOME preferences, although I set Primary preferences identically.

So, how can I stop 2 of the wu's from running?

This is not a problem anymore. I got some help from the folks at seti and they got it all straightened out for me. I'm back to 6 wu's on 6 cores, just like I like it.
