Hello,
on my second laptop every WU crashes. The only difference to the other laptop (where every WU finishes without an error) is an older version of Boinc.

I was having the same problem with my Linux laptop a while back (every WU gave error -185). Downloading the newest version of BOINC fixed the problem. Try doing that once the BOINC website comes back up.

Are you using the Boinc wrapper for your application ?
If yes, you need at least a CC 5.5.1

Hello,
somwhere in the project settings on the codmology server you can set which minimum version of Boinc the project requires. This should be set to at least 5.8 or whatever is sufficient to not hand out work units to clients which can not handle it.

Yes, you are certainly correct about having a minimum client version. I'll change that immediately.

Thanks for the catch!

Since 5.5.x was development and testing only (not production), I would suggest setting the minimum at 5.6.0.

Minimum core version has been set to 5.6.0 for now, but I may move it higher up if I keep seeing the errors.

It seems that you just started completing WUs successfully. I'll keep this thread open for a bit longer just in case you start having issues again.

I can't recall a 5.6 or 5.7 being released as a stable version.

Most of the projects are setting v5.8.16 as the Minimum Version & I'm already getting warnings from some Projects that it will be higher than that eventually ...

They weren't. 5.5.x and 5.7.x were development only. 5.6.x could not be made stable quickly enough. There was some project that had some new requirements, and they had a deadline - and those changes were slated for 5.8.x, so after about half a dozen attempts at 5.6 it was skipped.
