Mr. Ben Wandelt!
Dear project team!

It looks like the project database was serious damaged yesterday!
All of participants got yesterday exactly 5000 additional or extra credits.
Including possible thousands of accidental or undecided users (like me), which never did any job here, which have ZERO!!! WU processed.
I am under SHOCK!
Maintain and correct Your DB, PLEASE!!!

Best regards

You should read the main page. Refusing the extra credit is one thing, calling it a database error is just silly.

Ok! This was not a DB error, but a serious bug in the script for adding credits to active users profiles. Are You now happy, Emanuel?

Dear project team!

I don't know, what do You mean under "active Cosmo@home users" - users with RAC>0 or users with TotalCredits>0. No matter. But registered only users ARE NOT active users at all!!!
Credits, given for registration only, are very dangerous precedent, which may initiate serious after-effects for BOINC community.
It is very simple to restore normal situation:
For i=1 to maximal ID
If credits of user with ID=i are exactly 5000
Then
Set credits of user with ID=i to 0
Else
Do nothing
End If
Next i

Correct Your database, please!

Considering I warned them not to do anything with the database in regards to adjusting credits, I would prefer that they not do anything to try to "revert" people's credits, as I fear something will go wrong with that too...

Could you just not worry about it and let it go as I asked in my reply to your post on BOINCStats?

Maybe, I am eccentic, but I am sorry, NO!
The Cosmology@home team changed my status (and status of thousands others) from inactive to active. And they did it without asking me (and us), are we agree or not!
This is very bad or dangerous precedent for BOINC community.

Dear project team!
I appeal to Your good will. Restore my truthful status, PLEASE!

If you wait about 24 more days, you will automatically go back to inactive...

There is no conspiracy involved here. They simply messed up a SQL script. They were warned that it happened in the past, but they went ahead and did it anyway.

Thank You, Brian, for Your replies!

For me here is one way only - to change account data and forget everything forever. I did it already... :)
Good luck!
